Located in Curitiba, Brazil, this community library is conceived as an inclusive civic space that responds to the city’s social and spatial inequalities. While Curitiba is a dense and well-structured urban center, access to cultural and educational infrastructure remains uneven, particularly in residential areas on the periphery.
The project reimagines the library as a social and cultural hub that strengthens both physical and community connections within a vulnerable neighborhood.
A central open courtyard serves as a public gathering space, encouraging interaction, outdoor learning, and community events while blending interior and exterior environments.

Organized across multiple levels, the building transitions from active public spaces on the ground floor to quieter reading and study areas above, creating a clear functional gradient.
The design emphasizes light, transparency, and natural materials, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
More than a library, the project acts as a catalyst for community development, promoting equal access to knowledge and improving quality of life.
